The Great Waterbed incident....

Ken's 30 year old water-bed which was in the spare room over our heads blew-up last night and the water joined us in our master bedroom! We were busy all evening, cleaning up and praying that the ceiling wouldn't cave onto our bed in the room below, as the light fixture rained but never ceased to work! It was actually pretty exciting. Fortunately all is well now, except for some very soggy carpet. As Helen Keller said, "Life is either an amazing adventure or it's nothing." She's always been my inspiration, but I'm still hoping for a day of nothing tomorrow......

Saturday, the Greenville Greek Festival.

Another fun-filled glorious day in sunny SC. Saturday we went to the Greek Orthodox church celebration and enjoyed more great weather and out door entertainment along with Gyros to die for. The Church tour was informative, it is a truly beautiful work of art. So much carved olive wood, with stunning icons and a mosaic of Jesus on the ceiling that has 350,000 tiles, many of them gold. But I enjoyed all the dancing and singing on the outdoor stage the most. The costumes were all from different regions and islands and the different ages of kids were amazing.

The BMW Pro-Am Golf Tournament on Friday

Lynnn and Laura and I had a ball on the beautiful Cliffs Vineyard golf course on Friday. Lynn had VIP passes so we hob-nobbed with the pros and the celebs and watched some great golf on a gorgeous course on a perfect day. It really was a terrific day with good friends and a delicious VIP lunch. I never thought I'd enjoy just watching other people play, but it was really neat. We saw Kevin Costner, Cheech Marin, John Elway and George Lopez up close and lots of pro golfers I don't know yet. The entertainers really play the greens crowds. I guess when you are an older star, playing golf and being paid, to play on gorgeous courses with pros would be a nice perk. I haven't any pictures because cameras and cell phones were checked at the gate. But it was fun.

Our Field-trip to the BMW Plant

This was really a cool thing to do, Ken and I went to the SC BMW plant, the largest plant in the USA. It started with the museum and then on to a 2 hour tour on the assembly line. No cameras were allowed inside, so I can't show you all the cool robots working. There are 5000 employees and yet people are really fairly scarce inside, it is almost totally automated. We saw mostly all 4 and 5 series vehicles in production. This plant makes 600 plus cars a day and 5 different models. Our guide was terrific and the plant immaculate. Afterwards we went to lunch in a beautiful resturant that looked like a castle. Anyway it was a terrific day. I'm so glad field-trips aren't just for school kids anymore. Our activity group is lots of fun. Of the 12 couples in it there were 18 people that made it today.

What a Lazy Beautiful Mother's Day

Ken planted the gorgeous Azalea that Damon and Vicki sent by the waterfall and I had a terrific phone visit with them and several friends too. I can't wait till Damon and Vicki come out to visit in September. I'm really looking forward to meeting Vicki. She and Damon seem very happy and well matched. Ken and I are coming up on 1 year since our first meeting. It has gone so fast I can't believe it..... It's nice to be so easy and relaxed with each other. I am very blessed.... At long last, I have my happily ever after! I never knew it could be so easy to be happy. Now if his house would just sell, everything would be perfect.

Cinco de May at Sharon's and John's House

Saturday my best friends in SC and their husbands, and Ken and I celebrated Mexican New Year with a Feast and margaritas. What fun! Sharon did the dinner, Laura the appetizer, Lynn the salad and I made a Mexican bread pudding. Good food and great conversation made for a terrific evening. We forgot our camera, but just picture the 8 of us having great fun in Sharon's beautiful home...

Just thinking of Damon and Chase and missing them.

It hit me that I haven't seen my sons in over a year now, that's how long I've been in SC. I love you both and I miss you terribly. Damon and Vicki will be coming to visit at the end of September. I wish Chase would come too. I love SC and would love for them to see it and meet Ken and his family too.
Of course I did see Damon in Sept of 2006 when we met in Barcelona.
I really miss you both very much though and wish we saw more of each other.
Big hugs to my sons, and just know that you are always in my heart. You have turned into amazing men....
